Our colleagues Asst. Prof. Jeff Roxas, Asst. Prof. Fellow Clara López (presenters), and Dr. Anna Sibayan-Sarmiento (member of the Scientific Committee) took part in the Congreso de Enseñanza de Español para el Sudeste Asiático 2024: Herramientas prácticas para el aula de español organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Embajada de España en Singapur, the Asesoría de Educación, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, and the Junta de Castilla y León held at the NUS on 24-25 February 2024.
Asst. Prof. Jeff Roxas presented his paper on “El mundo bajo el arcoíris: La enseñanza de español en Filipinas desde la perspectiva feminista-cuir” (The World Under the Rainbow: Spanish Language Teaching in the Philippines from a Feminist-Queer Perspective) while Asst. Prof. Fellow Clara López Pasarín (lectora AECID – UP Diliman) together with Marta Gutiérrez Asúa (profesora – Instituto Cervantes Manila) facilitated their workshop on “De los manuales a las redes sociales: Cómo fomentar la competencia cultural en el aula de ELE (From Textbooks to Social Media: How to Promote Cultural Competence in the Spanish as a Foreign Language Classroom)
