Last July 7-11 in Naga, Cebu, the Department of Education (DepEd) marked the National Festival of Talents with this year’s theme «Galing, Talino, at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng Matatag na Adhika.» In this annual co-curricular activity, students from across Philippine regions showcased their talents and skills aligned with their school’s learning competencies. One highlight was Lingo Stars, featuring students who demonstrated exceptional linguistic and sociocultural competence in writing and speaking in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish as foreign languages.
Asst. Prof. Jeff Roxas took part as a Spanish panel expert, sharing their insights to enrich teaching Spanish in DepEd’s Special Program in Foreign Language.
